A mouth-watering tie for the rounds of last 16 matches of the 2022 season for the Higher Institutions Football League (HIFL) has drawn 2021 runners-up Adekunle Ajasin University against the Lagos State University, LASU.
The draws which was held at the Protea Hotel By Marriott, Ikeja pitched last year’s finalists, AAUA Luminaries against LASU Blazers for a place in the quarterfinals.
AAUA Luminaries play host to LASU Blazers on Wednesday 27th, July 2022, in the first leg before traveling to Lagos for the return leg.
Recall that LASU Blazers had competed twice in 2019 and 2021 but were unsuccessful and have only managed to make it as far as the round of 16 of the annual football showpiece.
Other fixtures in the draws pitched EKSU Mountaineers and FUOYE Dazzlers in an All-Ekiti derby, while ABTU Bravehearts have debutant KASU Crocs to by-pass and the FUTMINNA Transformers hopes to transform successfully against KSU Steelers.
DELSU Titans also have it all to prove their Titania nature against the mindful debutant, IAEU Minders, and ABTU Bravehearts in the other schedule.
The defending champions, UNIMAID Deserts Warriors on their part are in the quest to defending their crown against BUK Stallions while the UNN Lions will slug it out against UNIPORT Sharks.
The concluding part of the fixtures also pitched UNILORIN Warriors against the inaugural edition winners and 2019 finalists UAM Tillers.
The round of 16 ties are scheduled from Wednesday 27th, July 2022, and Wednesday 3rd, August 2022.
