LASUSU President, Badmus Uthman, Pleads For Urgent Maximum Security In LASU

The Lagos State University Students’ Union, LASUSU through the president, Badmus Uthman, has called on the Lagos State Government to urgently provide maximum security within and outside the campus.

Uthman made the plea during a news conference on campus noting that insecurity has been on the rise within the vicinity and this could lead to a breakdown of law and order of not managed properly.

“The Igando-Iyana Iba axis plied by thousands of students of the institution daily in pursuit of education has in recent times become a dangerous route and calls for urgent attention and action. “In recent times, we have received disturbing reports of armed robbery and other attacks on unsuspecting students”

Uthman further appealed to LASU students to stay calm and peaceful as they mourn the death of their colleague.

Badmus Uthman Oladipupo aka Badecious is a 300 level student of Political Science Education, Faculty of Education who was elected as the 31st President of the Lagos State University Students’ Union (LASUSU).

The election was held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 chaired by the Students’ Union Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Chairman, Hon. Areh Olabowale.

Badecious secured 3,437 votes to defeat his only contender, Andrew Fuhad, aka Dynamight, from the Faculty of Law, who gathered 1,686 votes.
