The Faculty of Management Sciences, #FMS, is looking new and refreshing with an Ultra Modern Reception Centre all thanks to the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) which constructed and handed it over to the management of the school.
The Opening and Handover took place in a brief but colourful ceremony which had in attendance the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, (SAN) who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olumuyiwa Noah, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. B. R. Yusuf, Professors and other members of academic and non-academic staff of the Faculty, as well as the a high-powered team from the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), donors of the Project.
In his speech, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. B. R. Yusuf was full of praise for the LIRS for giving back to the University.
“We identified the need to have a befitting reception hall and approached LIRS to help us achieve it. True to their promise, they did put this in place. They have also promised to do more if we are able to make good use of this.”
“Soon, we are going to start a Degree in Taxation and we invite LIRS staff to come for admission in our university,” Yusuf concluded.
The Director, Account and Finance, LIRS, Mr Maroof Tijani, responding on behalf of the Service expressed the readiness of the Body to do more for LASU.
“When the Dean approached us for this gesture, we felt this is the kind of project we want to partake in and we see it as a CSR on our own part.”
“We want to collaborate with LASU and do more. This is our University and we are ready to give necessary support,” Tijani said.
