NANS Threatens Sanwo-Olu, Accused LASU Management Of Playing “Devil’s Advocate In Omoweewa’s Life”

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS has requested that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu should probe the death of the former student activist at the Lagos State University, Nurudeen Alowonle, popularly called Omomeewa.

NANS is threatening to mobilise a protest of over four million students to “do the needful” and has given a 3 day Ultimatum which will end on Wednesday, 25th August 2021 by 4pm to meet their requests.

The Chairman, NANS Lagos State chapter, Olalere Omoseni made the demands through a statement tagged: “Omomeewa’s assassination – How vice-chancellors, rectors, provosts and lecturers’ common practice of political and academic witch-hunting of student activists murdered a shinning light; NANS Lagos blows hot and makes demands from Governor Sanwo-Olu”.

The group in their demands want the Governor to address the State on death and set up an inquiry to investigate the merit of the allegation of admission racketeering levied against the deceased and clear his name of the wrong doing.

NANS Lagos Chapter also want the Governor to design an honest laudable relief package for his wife and three months old son as well as give a befitting state burial to the deceased and ensure all tertiary institutions are secured.
