The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has debunked a report written by a blogger that a Law student died while reading for examination.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Coordinator, Centre for Information Press and Public Relations, Lagos State University, Ademola Adekoya and made available on Monday.

It would be recalled that the students of the Institution are currently writing their examinations.

According to him, ‘attention of the Lagos State University Authority has been drawn to a post by popular blogging site, Instablog9ja, which claimed that a certain Hilary, alleged to be a Law Student of the Institution allegedly died at the Faculty of Law common room while reading for his examination.

“On this matter, we hereby states that no student of the University died reading for examination or on any account whatsoever.

Adekoya said, “It is untrue that the Vice Chancellor ordered the closure of the common room as a result of the said incident.

“We urge our students, parents and the general public to disregard the fake news just as members of the society are advised to contact the University to verify news of this nature before spreading it.”

LASU management therefore request that Instablog9ja, the primary source of the fake news do a corrigendum on the story on their platform to set the records straight.
